Size Does Matter (In the Kitchen)
Who would have thunk? By choosing the wrong size pot or pan we are wasting energy from having to heat the empty space on the pan.
Yeah, but what could I possibly do about it?
Use cookware that is appropriate for the meal you are making and save energy without even trying. For example, if you are boiling water for your non-fat, whole wheat, organic pasta ;), don’t use a pot that is bigger than absolutely necessary.

Hi Shira, thanks for leaving such a nice comment on my article. I’ve had an enjoyable tour around your website, and I like your approach of informing your readers about global warming and how they can help turn things around. I agree with you on the cookware issue, even though I’d never actually thought about it. I just naturally prefer to select cookware to suit the type and amount of food going into it. I’m going to make sure to drop by here frequently.

Also another thing that I have noticed in India is that people wash dishes and then put it straight on the stove and then waits until the little remnant water boils off before pouring oil or butter. This actually wastes a lot of energy
