Hey! Thanks for the great info about cooking more green. I should have realized this boiling trick earlier!

I was browsing through a bunch of green websites and blogs and I came across yours and found it very interesting. There are a bunch of others I like too, like the daily green, ecorazzi and earthlab.com. I especially like EarthLab.com’s carbon calculator (http://www.earthlab.com/signupprofile/). I find it really easy to use (it doesn’t make me feel guilty after I take it).

Are there any others you would recommend? Can you drop me a link to your favorites (let me know if they are the same as mine).

I think it's amazing to see so much of the world participating in Earth Hour. If we can make such a huge impact in one hour, imagine what we can do with the rest of our lives!

He says he is presenting equal arguments but he really isn't. By his argument we have two extreme decisions: 1) do nothing but continue to expand industry or 2) cut ALL production, this means forget buying groceries from the grocery store, no more driving to work, no more heating your house, etc. Now given these two opposite choices, can you really say that the outcomes are not comparable? Millions, no billions of people will die if we collapse our economy, the same verdict is true for if climate change is true.

So! The real issue is to determine just how much change we want to make because we all know neither of those two extreme decisions will occur. This video has not provided anything new to the discussion on climate change.

I think an electric kettle is supposed to be even more energy efficient than a stove top.

I don't disagree with the concept for the generalization. Yes, changing speeds burns more fuel. No, changing lanes does not have to cause this. If you stay in one lane and keep adjusting your speed with indecisive guy in front of you. You are likely to burn more fuel this way than someone with foresight who maintains a constant speed by changing lanes when they realize the person in front of them is indecisive or whatever. Maybe better to say "reckless" driving or inconsistent speed or quick accelating. Thank-you.

Also another thing that I have noticed in India is that people wash dishes and then put it straight on the stove and then waits until the little remnant water boils off before pouring oil or butter. This actually wastes a lot of energy

This is very true although not very many people realize it and take it for granted. Not only that you save energy but also your time. I really appreciate your efforts to promote practical ways to save energy and our environment.
